For nearly 200 years, the American Bible Society has been providing the comfort, strength and hope of the Scriptures to America's servicemen and women on the front lines. It started back in1817, when we distributed Bibles to the crew of the USS John Adams.

Since that time, we've gone on to distribute over 9.6 million Bibles during WWI and WWII. More recently, 300,000 Bibles were sent to our troops in the Persian Gulf War. And today, the American Bible Society continues this Scripture outreach to our brave men and women in uniform.

Hundreds of thousands of US servicemen and women are currently serving our country in Iraq, Afghanistan or other places around the world. They are lonely, far away from home, and facing danger and uncertainty with each new day. Won't you help us provide them with the hope and comfort of God's Word?
