Hear it
Listen as someone reads the verse to you.
Repeat it with them as they read it over and over.
Read it
Read the verse to yourself over and over again.
Read it silently, and then read it out loud.
When you think you know it, say it loud and clear.
Write it
Write the verse many times.
You will need to look at the verse the first few times.
As you write it more, you will say it without looking at the words.
Touch it
Read it with your fingers over the words to see if you remember them. When you can cover it all up and say it, you will know it!
Imagine it
Think of some really weird pictures as you repeat the sentences.
For example, in Exodus 3.5...
"Do not come any closer, take off your sandals,
because you are standing on holy ground."
Imagine a police officer with his hands up saying, "Do not come any closer."
Imagine the officer pointing at your shoes ("take off your sandals").
Look down at the dirt ("you are standing on holy ground").
Replay this scene in your mind (stop -- sandals -- ground).
This is a good way to remember things.
Work Together
Choose a partner.
Coach each other, and correct each other.
Sometimes it is easier to remember with a friend.
