Sometimes referred to as the “critical text” the Nestle-Aland is the Greek text of the New Testament most widely used today. The Greek text of the New Testament is presented with a detailed critical apparatus at the bottom of the page, and detailed cross references to other passages in the margin. The apparatus provides all necessary information for textual criticism. It has been thoroughly revised for the 27th edition:
- Those textual witnesses which are essential to the constitution and the history of the text are more precisely selected and clearly arranged than in former editions.
- A new appendix deals with special information regarding the source material.
- The new introduction (in German and English) facilitates access to the volume.
- Includes four-color maps on the front and back inside covers of "Palestine in Old Testament Times", "Palestine in New Testament Times", "The Ancient Near East", and "The Journeys of the Apostle Paul".
